GRID Ice-Machine Disinfection is a germicidal UV-C device that installs inside a commercial ice machine to continuously disinfect it. A quartz-enclosed, Teflon-coated 40W high-output 253.7 nm UV-C lamp deactivates the DNA of the bacteria and mold that colonize cold, wet ice systems so they can't reproduce — cutting 90% of microbes within 10 minutes and 99.9% within 24 hours. Continuous in-machine treatment reduces the frequency and cost of deep cleanings, improves ice hygiene and taste, eliminates ice odor, and lowers the contamination and liability risk of foodservice ice — all without chemicals. A water-resistant lamp, 110–277 VAC multi-voltage power supply, magnetic reflector bracket and safety interlock adapt it to a range of ice-machine designs.
